Duo is composed of two symmetrical and opposing elements—yin and yang—that, while facing away from each other, complement one another with an exceptional sense of proportion. The light output is adjustable thanks to the independent rotation of its glass shades, which can be either opaque to focus light on the work surface or translucent to provide general ambient lighting. A prominent push-button located in the narrow central body serves as a switch for both.

The Duo lamp was conceived by André Ricard for “executive desks,” considering that office heads often reviewed numerous documents and needed strong task lighting, but also hosted many visitors—meaning that the view of guests seated across from them should not be blocked by a large or ostentatious shade. Duo fulfills both needs perfectly: it provides close-range illumination without interrupting the visual horizon.
